Shift work: a recommended planning method
Shift work is a possible way of organising working time that is highly valued by employees. Although this specific scheme was repealed by a law of 20 August 2008 (in France), there is nothing to prevent companies, under the new single scheme for organising working time, from spreading working hours over shifts.
What is a working cycle?
A working cycle is a period of up to 12 weeks during which working hours can be distributed differently from one week to the next.
Weeks may involve hours above or below the statutory working hours. Weeks with longer hours and weeks with shorter hours balance each other out, so that the average weekly working hours comply with the law.
- The distribution of working hours must be the same from one cycle to the next.
- The maximum weekly working hours must comply with the relevant legislation.
For a service that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, shift work is essential. For those responsible for scheduling, it can sometimes be very difficult to organise.Pour un service ouvert 24 heures sur 24 et 7 jours sur 7, le recours au travail par cycle est un incontournable. Pour les personnes responsables de planning, c’est parfois très compliqué à mettre en œuvre.
The software we offer is the easiest way to implement a shift-based rota system!
